Kelly Jo Cox
Kelly Jo Cox received a Bachelors of Science in Bible & Theology, with a Minor in Psychology, in May 2010 from Multnomah University. She is currently in pursuit of a Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling and will be graduating December 2012. Presently, she is a Counseling Intern. Though she works with people of all ages, she is especially passionate about the issues that teens and young adults are facing in this day and age. Kelly Jo believes in a holistic approach, integrating the body, mind, and emotions, with psychology and spirituality and she believes that humans become healthy when their lives have all five of those aspects integrated. When these aspects are not integrated, needs are unmet or met in unhealthy ways, and painful experiences result. It is her desire to help each client become more aware of their primary needs and help them to learn how to meet them in healthy and respectful ways for themselves and for others. She believes that people can change, improve, heal, and experience freedom as a result of the therapeutic process, however each person is in charge of their own story. Kelly Jo is a native Texan, and although her family moved up to the Northwest when she was young, her love for Texas is still present, especially around College Football season! Kelly Jo comes from a very large, close knit family who love getting together for pizza nights and holidays. Kelly Jo also enjoys exploring downtown Portland with friends, crocheting, photography, baking, entertaining friends in my home, and watching college football.
