Let's Talk About Sex: Teaching Your Children About Healthy Sexuality

Talking about sex is difficult for most people. Needless to say, talking to your children about sex presents a new dimension of challenge! What do children need to know? What is age appropriate? When do we tell them? What do we tell them? How do we tell them? Often, families and communities treat sex as a taboo subject that is not talked about. If parents and adults fail to communicate the beauty and sacredness of sex in a constructive and informational way, children and adolescents may be confused and shame ridden within the context of sexuality. Some parents fail to see the importance and immediacy of clear communication surrounding the issue of sexuality and thus in effect do not explain or share foundational truth with their children. When parents do this, children are raised with many questions about healthy sexuality. This workshop is designed for parents and other adults whom work with children and adolescents to be able to effectively communicate the truth of sex in a way that is fresh, fluid and foundational.
